LED TECHNOLOGY

LED technology is more than 100 years old but continues to reveal its potential. Increasingly efficient and reliable, LEDs currently display a colorimetric range suitable for the highest spec lighting applications. Their level of performance exceeds that of all traditional lighting sources.

Energy saving

Energy savings are 50% compared to consumption by low energy lighting sources such as compact fluorescent lamps or mercury and xenon bulbs. Savings of 90% are possible if incandescent or halogen bulbs are replaced by LEDs.

Lifetime

LED sources have a lifetime of 40,000 to 50,000 hours, the equivalent of 12 years’ commercial lighting for 12 hours a day, 300 days a year. LEDs last between 2 and 10 times longer than any other source of lighting and so require less maintenance.

Efficiency

A luminous flux free of UV and IR emissions has no detrimental impact on products illuminated. Colours are enhanced, revealing accents and subtleties in lighted displays. Low heat emission levels of 40° to 60° increase visitor and staff comfort.
